Which is the must have iPhone app and why?
Posted on 08. Jun, 2010 by nat cagilaba in Employer Branding
OK, so maybe I’m not as much of an early adopter as I would like, but my contract tied me in to the Sony Ericsson I had chosen. But with my renewal of contract comes a whole new world. No longer am looking on enviously at the toys (apps) everyone is enjoying, now I have an iPhone I can join in.
So which is the must have iPhone app and why?
On the list so far:
- Fart for free (whilst childish I have to admit its had me in hysterics all lunch time)
- Hootsuite was the first app I chose, downloaded and used – I feel liberated from the laptop coup.
- Shazam – I’m always in the car wanting to know the track on the radio so this will be fantastic.
- Sleep cycle – is this the modern day bio rhythms? I can’t wait to have a great night’s sleep.
What am I missing?

CommBank – if you’re a customer you can do all of your net banking with this app.
PS Mobile – let’s you photoshop your pic.
Skype – you can Skype form your iPhone when you’re connected to Wi-fi.
Domain – any house hunters will love this.

I’ve already had my say above but I do love this visual representation of apps being downloaded.

One that was recommended to me on the weekend is fantastic if you are constantly exchanging business cards – World Card – photograph the business card and it strips the information out and puts it in to your contacts with all the fields pre-populated – AMAZING!!!

Niggle it is missing. Niggle it allows you to record your receipts and associated warranties. Save money and time by managing the numerous contracts you have rolling over and warranties expiring without knowing. The Niggle it app let’s you take a photo of the reciept and capture the warranty details.. Cool. The app is further supported by niggleit.com where you can view all your Niggles, receipts and associated doucments. http://niggleit.com

Looks like I’m coming a little late to this conversation but here is my 10 cents worth:
Appolicious – a great app for finding apps… if you will.
BBC News – does what is says on the tin (a must have for any expat poms)
Evernote – the logical extension of “notes”.
Foursquare – the king of “check ins” and user generated content.
Linkedin
The google app – voice search etc.
Bump – instant sharing between phones.
The Specials Board – I have to declare an interest here/shameful self promotion (its my app) – geo located food and drink offers.
